Why does my fragrance smells differently on another person?

HG fragrances evolve, as all fine fragrances, with your skin’s temperature and chemistry. This explains why every composition smells differently from a person to person. Although created with “fixatives”, in general, fragrances composed of large percentages of natural aromatics may require re-application once per day or more to your liking. This is the character of HG Fine Fragrances, a testament to the unwavering high standards of handcrafted, original compositions.
Do you use artificial dyes or colors?

Colors vary from a blend to another depending on the material used due to natural essential oils, absolutes or extracts which can have dark colors. We don't use artificial colors or dyes, and the cold filtration process is accomplished by hand with unbleached and untreated filters to remove any plant waxes and residues, leaving beautiful clarity, with color!
Are your fragrance vegan?

Each of our fragrances are vegan, and whenever the character of a traditionally animal-derived material such as musk or ambergris is desired, the choice is made to use synthetic alternatives.
How do you manage allergens?

FDA regulations does not require the display of allergens on fine fragrance products but we think it is important for you to know. When composing HG Fragrances, care is taken to minimize or completely avoid the use of known fragrance sensitizers. In any case where a known sensitizer is contained within a formula, the name will be provided on the secondary package labeling. When in doubt, safe synthetics are used to reduce possible allergic reaction. If you know you have a sensitive skin or are allergic to some materials, please check our ingredients list.
Do you create your own fragrance compositions?

Yes, all our scents are original and created by hand (and nose). We create, drop-by-drop, each tester formula and give each formula a month to age in cold storage before evaluating it’s final characteristics. Only the finest formulas are scaled up into a fragrance concentrate. All phases of production are in-house: formula design, label design, compliance research and conformance, product filtration, bottling, and labeling.
Is your fragrance brand eco-friendly?

Our formulas are cruelty-free and we use safe synthetics and/or accords to replace ingredients coming from endangered species e.g. musk, ambergris or sandalwood. HG Fragrances bottles are recyclable and we don't use plastic for shipping or packing.
Are your fragrances made for women or men?

All HG Fine Fragrances are genderless due to the reasons listed above, as each fragrance will "wear" differently on each individual.
Shipping
House Germaine Fine Fragrance orders are processed M-F and shipped each Wednesday excluding holidays. If you have order a selection which needs further maturation, and therefore cannot be shipped within 7 days, you will be contacted via email for order confirmation.
If you need to make any edits after placing an order, as soon as possible, please email germainefragrance@gmail.com.
Once an order is shipped, you will receive an email with the tracking number. Please allow up to 2 days for the tracking number to update once received. If you are reside within the Topeka or Manhattan, Kansas area, arrangements can be made to either pick up or have your selection hand-delivered at a time convenient to yourself and the perfumer.
Free Shipping
Free Standard Ground Shipping is available within the contiguous United States.
Shipping Methods (US mainland)
Perfume cannot be shipped domestically using air transportation due to restrictions on alcohol. Your products are always shipped using UPS Ground.
We currently do not ship to PO Boxes, APO/FPO/DPO military addresses, Hawaii, Alaska or other US territories.
Returns
Unless a package is lost, damaged or an order is shipped incorrectly, we have a no refund policy. Because scent is very subjective, we encourage customers to purchase our 5 x 2 ml discovery set first to evaluate which scent is most agreeable before purchasing a full size bottle.
To be eligible for a refund, please email the proof of purchase and a photo of the damaged item as it was shipped. To make the request, you can contact us at germainefragrance@gmail.com. Items sent without first requesting a refund will not be accepted.
Damages or issues
Please inspect your order when it is first received and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right for you.
Exceptions / non-returnable items
Certain types of items cannot be returned, especially flammable materials. Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns and we'll be happy to help!
Exchanges
Because we cannot accept returns, we do not accept exchanges. If the product is defective, you will be reimbursed and can make another purchase on our website directly or contact us at germainefragrance@gmail.com.
Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and processed your refund request, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you will be refunded on your original payment method. It can take 7-10 business days for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund.
